Saturday, November 9, 2024, 10:00 AM – 1:00 PM
The Hawai‘i Island Community joins our Military Veterans and all non-profits, businesses, and groups to better our lives by participating Saturday, November 9th, 2024, 10 a.m. at the 17th Annual Hawaii Island LIVE Veterans Day Parade. The parade's theme, "Celebrate Service", focuses on increasing the involvement of veterans and the community to serve those in need.
NOTE - We choose to hold the parade the week of Veterans Day (11 Nov) on a SATURDAY to maximize participation and volunteers. Plus, several long-held island locations host ceremonies that would conflict if we did the parade on the same day.
Held in downtown Hilo, the parade has grown into one of Hawaii's largest Veterans Day parades. This event can only be held with the generous financial and volunteer support of local businesses and individuals. Our committee members are all volunteers who give their time and effort to support and organize the Hawaii Island Veterans Day Parade because of its importance in recognizing our Hawaii Island veterans and their families, and working with the community to help many more. As COVID taught us, let's keep finding creative ways to support our Veterans!
Line up will begin at 8:00 am on Saturday, November 9, 2024 at Wailoa State Park near the King Kamehameha Statue. Parade numbers will be provided. All units will be listed by the name of the Sponsoring organization that you register under. DO NOT drop children in the middle of the street – please park and walk them to their floats or the staging area to meet their groups.
